The double log edger operates on the principle of a double arbour, with four blades rotating in the same direction – two blades sawing from above the log and two blades sawing from the beneath the log. The 18-tooth tungsten carbide-tipped blades are driven each by an 11kW electric motor.
Cutting speed can be adjusted to between 0 to 30 meters per minute. Timber feed is controlled by a 3kW variable speed motor. The standard in- and outfeed bed length is 3 meters.
The log edger can accommodate logs/ beams up to 350mm in diameter.
